Fit Body Boot Camp is not your typical fitness class. Run by Steve Gronick, an internationally-certified fitness coach and personal trainer, Fit Body’s results-driven, 30-minute classes are geared for efficiency. Within minutes, you will be sweating and pushing yourself harder than you thought possible. At Fit Body, you will burn twice the calories in only half the time!
Steve opened Fit Body Boot Camp in Kelowna in early October. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Manitoba, three international health and fitness certificates, and all three levels of neurokinetic therapy certification, Steve is a highly-qualified fitness coach who has worked as a personal trainer for the past nine years.
“When I first began working as a fitness coach, I did one-on-one personal training,” says Steve. “I still do some one-on-one training to help with rehabilitation and pain relief. However, I wanted to help as many people as possible achieve their fitness goals, which is why I opened Fit Body.”
Fit Body workouts combine high intensity intervals with resistance training that causes an afterburn effect forcing your body to burn fat and calories for up to 28 hours after the workout. Each activity is timed and participants work at their own intensity and ability level. Minimal equipment is used and focus is placed on body-weight exercises.
Fit Body is about helping individuals achieve their personal goals in a fun, supportive and challenging communal environment. Working in a group provides motivation, accountability and a fun social dynamic. Classes are co-ed and teenagers are welcome.
Every effort has been made to make Fit Body Boot Camp accessible to everyone. There are class times throughout the day: come by before work, at lunch or on your way home. There is a area set up in one corner of the building where children can play while parents get in a quick workout. Members can participate in as many sessions a week as they like but Steve recommends attending 3-5 sessions per week to achieve maximum results.
Fit Body is a community-based organization, committed to helping both individuals and the community. During the cool down at the end of each workout, participants are encouraged to share news about upcoming events and charitable organizations. Fit Body will also be organizing fun activities to create awareness and raise funds for local charities.
